AUSTIN, Texas — In a remarkable display of community support, the Austin community came together on Saturday night to raise an impressive $589,986.55 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) — South and Central Texas. The grand finale of the Austin Visionaries of the Year, hosted by CBS Austin Morning Anchor John-Carlos Estrada, took place at the AT&T Hotel Conference Center on the University of Texas Austin campus. For ten weeks, fourteen dedicated candidates tirelessly raised funds with a shared vision of creating a world without blood cancers.
